Desmond is from Eziudo, Ezinite Local Government area of Imo State, She has a global corporate and government clientele that ranges from Nigerian State governments, to clients in the United States, China, India, Nigeria, Angola, Guinea, Congo, Togo, Mali and DRC. In her business development capacity, MS, Desmond is responsible for driving the development of new business opportunities through developing strategic relationships and joint ventures through integration and cooperation.
Previously, Philomena Desmond was a Senior Consultant for Business Women Network on International Business, where she headed their international product strategy, including international product research, brand development and market entry strategy implementation. She was a member of the private sector coalition that lobbied for the passage of the Africa Growth and Opportunities (AGOA) act into law during President Jefferson Clinton’s administration, and was invited by President Clinton to the White House to witness the first signing into law the AGOA Bill. She has organized numerous successful trade missions to Africa from the United States and vice versa. She was a member of the private sector delegation that travelled with then President Jeferson Clinton during his State visit to Nigeria. She created business opportunities valued at over &500 million for her clients in Peoples Republic of China, Republic of India, Republic of Guinea, Angola, Republic of Guinea Equatorial, Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo and the Federal Republic of Nigeria just to name a few.
She has consulted on Foreign Affairs for key politicians in Africa. She crafted their foreign policies and managed their international public relations. She was the lead coordinator for the government of Shandong province in the People’s Republic of China in 2000 on programs to faster better economic relations between the Shandong province, Peoples. Republic of China and Africa. She has strong and indebt knowledge of the countries in Sub-Saharan Africa especially the ECOWAS, COMESA and SADC regions. She has very strong relationships with the government of the republic of Guinea Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Congo-Brazzaville, Republic of Angola, United Republic of Tanzania., Equatorial Guinea, Sao Tonne & Principe, Republic of Liberia, Burkina Faso, Niger, Tog, South Africa and the people Republic of China [PRC] just to name a few. she has also a very good and in-depth working knowledge of the United States of America having living there for many years.
