Our farming operations cover a wide array of agro activities including, but not limited to, cultivation of cash crops such as cereals (maize, sesame seeds), tubers (cassava).breeding of poultry (layers for eggs, broilers), animal husbandry (goats, grass cutters, rabbits) and cultivation of large scale oil palm crop for local consumption and or alternative export. Honking Global Limited is involved in cultivation, processing, packaging, storage, supply and export of a wide variety of agricultural produce to include the following:
CEREAL
MAIZE
Maize (Zea mays), a popularly grain after rice, it is eaten as food in different forms and also as a basal ingredient for poultry and other
livestock feed. it’s also processed into different products such as Palp (Ogi). many varieties are grown but the most popular are white and yellow
maize, although red is also popular is some countries. Yellow maize is especially loved by poultry farmers because it confers rich yellow colouration to egg yolk.
Honking Global has a maize cultivation covering more than 50 hectares of horizontal land with a estimated 105,000 stands of crop cultivated annually every season. with a planned increase in the cultivation of the maize Crop and mechanization of the cultivation process, we strive to achieve an estimated 250tonnes per season and Gross up to 2,500tonnes per year.
RICE
Rice (Oryza sativa) the most popular grain in the world , it is eaten as food in different forms and also as a basal ingredient for poultry and other livestock feed. it is processed into different products such as Finished Rice etc. Two or more varieties are cultivated but the most popular are the Asian rice (Oryza sativa) and south African rice (Oryza glaberrima). While the Asian rice is cultivated and consumed around the world, the South African rice is cultivated only in Africa.
Honking Global has a rice cultivation covering more than 10 hectares rice cultivated annually every season and situated on a fertile marshy land mass in Abuja-FCT Communities in Gwagwalada Area Council of Oyo State. with a planned increase in the cultivation and processing of the rice Crop and mechanization of the cultivation process, we Strive to achieve an estimated 5,000tonnes per season and Grass up to 10,000tones per year.
TUBERS
Cassava (Manihot Esculenta) is a versatile crop that can be processed into many edible and industrial products including Garri, Fufu, Starch, Cassava Flour-HQCF and I
industrial Starch. Improved varieties can produce a yield of up to 45tonnes per hectare under the right soil composition and fertilizer application.
The economic importance and industrial uses of the derivatives from cassava makes it a viable cash crop for commercial cultivation anywhere in the world.
Our engineering department is experimenting with all the machines for the product line for export grade quantity and quality.
POULTRY
Poultry (Gallus domesticus-Chicken) is a domesticated animal widely bred and eaten all over the world. Chicken meat is especially preferred for its health advantage over beef and other ruminant because it is low in cholesterol. Chicken is the most common with a population of almost 20Billion in 2011. it is consumed as meat and for eg with its feathers finding other uses such as paper and plastics. Poultry dung is also a source of organic manure which can be taken further and processed into biogas and even to generate electricity.
We achieve an estimated 25 eggs per bird per month with a mortality of less than 5% and a stock profile of over 2,000 birds. Broiler chicks are introduced to the deep litters system during festive seasons to reduce idle time and catch-in on the increased demands during those seasons. We maintain hygienic and bio-secured environments for god outcomes.
GRASSCUTTER
(Thryonomys Swinderianus) are rodents commonly called “bush meat in Nigeria. it is a rich source of protein and a very healthy source of meat as its cholesterol content is very low yet its rich in protein and vital vitamins (vitamin A, B, riboflavin, Magnesium, iron, niacin). A mature grasscutter weighs between 4-45kg/male and 3-3.5kg/female, it matures in 32 weeks (male) and 2 weeks(female ), had a gestation period of approx. 5 months, and delivers up to 4 young ones at once. its feeding sources are mostly sourced from the forms and include cassava, cassava peels, broken rice, banana plants, tree barks, shells, etc
